Strengthening of SDMA/NDMA

Objectives:
To improve the effectiveness of SDMA and selected DDMAs and making them functionally operational by providing financial support for dedicated DM professionals for taking up measures for the prevention, mitigation, preparedness and capacity building to deal with threatening disaster situation or disaster.
Project Districts:
SDMA and Districts Simla, Mandi,Kangra, Solan and Kullu:
Funding pattern:
100% support from NDMA. NDMA has released Rs. 69,48,566/-.
Engagement of Professionals under the Scheme:
Disaster Management Professions were engaged one each at SDMA and 5 Districts.
Deliverables:
Hiring of DM professionals at SDMA and 5 DDMAs.
Preparation/review and updation SDMP and DDMP as per the NDMA guidelines and HRVA of the State.
Lay down the State Disaster Management Policy, where it is not framed.
To approve DM Plans of key departments.
Review of projects/programmes of State Government schemes from DRR perspective.
Lay down guidelines for State departments for dovetailing prevention and mitigation components of DRR.
Conduct of meetings of SDMA/SEC/DDMAs.
Conduct of mock drills
Organize capacity building programmes
Time line:
2016-17 and 2017-18. Scheme ended on 31.3.2018.
